F.A.Q

Is all sleep training cry it out?

Are there times when sleep training should be put on hold?

BUT What about attachment issues?

Nope! While that is one method some people use, there are essentially only four sleep training methods. All methods can involve tears, the differences between methods are about how much caregiver interventions are involved. My sleep courses use Check and Console and Pick up Put Down methods. When you work 1:1 with me you have the option of using any method.

Yes, but only a few! Things like sickness, major household change (like a new sibling, moving), trips, or severe teething shouldn’t happen at the same time as sleep training. In the event of one of these, you can simply pause sleep training and start again once everything is back to normal.

This is a common misconception. Research has shown that sleep training does not affect healthy attachment with your child. Temporarily helping them sleep independently won’t undo all of the love and affection you give your child during all the other hours in the day and night.
